Pizza & Evangelism
If you are ever traveling down Atlantic Ave in Pompano Beach, Florida, headed east to the beach, you might even notice a place called “Heavenly Pizza” in a strip mall. I visited this place two years ago by accident to learn that this was no ordinary pizza shop. The food was good, the people were very nice, and I was quickly engaged in a discussion about my relationship with the Lord.
As we developed the iChurch Network in 2025, I remembered that Phil’s Heavenly Pizza was a great example of the kind of novel and wonderful ways to spread the Good News of the Gospel. In fact, Phil started this project some thirty years ago, and transformed a pizza shop into a one-of-a-kind evangelistic ministry. Who would have thought?
Regardless of what it looks like, Phil is faithfully using this facility as a church ministry first and a pizza shop second. This is an example of a non-traditional ministry that happened after Phil was directed to take the steps after days of fasting and prayer. The program is a non-profit, faith-based organization that is frankly self-supporting.
The paying customers that are looking for a quick meal pay for their pizza, meaning that proceeds are used to support the ministry. Phil and his workers live very modestly to keep the program in the black. This is the kind of dedication that must be admired, but we are sure that the praise goes to God.

The Website of Phil’s Heavenly Pizza certainly looks much different from any other pizza shop website you have ever seen, so you see why this is not some for-profit business.
